Samos Solera is a liqueur wine from the Samos Wine Cooperative, made from five different harvests, with an average age of 10 years, bottled in 375 ml bottles. The Solera system has its roots in interconnected barrels. These are groups of barrels that communicate with each other and are topped up each time a portion of wine is removed from the last barrel. This way, wines from different harvests are blended, chosen so that the final result has organoleptic stability. The barrels are never completely emptied (wine is bottled from the bottom row of barrels). Thanks to this system, the aging process of the final product is accelerated.
The wine's color is light brown. The nose is dominated by aromas of coffee, chocolate, cocoa, petimezi, and honey, with a background of dried raisins. On the palate, the wine is exceptional, with an acidity that highlights its complexity and an appealing viscous texture that leads to a long finish.
