In 1980, Michael X. Fotopoulos, together with his wife Maria Fotopoulos, started timidly as amateurs with five beehives in the garden of their home in Akritochori Messinia.
The honey produced was enough for the needs of their family, for their three children Christina, Antonia and the younger Haralambos, close relatives and dear friends. After several years, Michael and Maria decided to move from amateurs to professional honey producers. Sharing the wonderful taste and nutritional values with all their loved ones.
So in 1983, the five beehives grew to 200 and moved from the garden of their home to the Mani region and the Taygetos mountains.
The excellent quality of their products attracted new customers while maintaining traditional production methods. All generously provide the beneficial advantages of honey and other pure products (pollen, royal jelly, and fragrant mountain herbs).
In 1994, his son Harry Fotopoulos took over the business and participated in training seminars, acquiring the appropriate knowledge for the profession, which, along with the artistry and his parents, continued the secret of success. His parents still approach honey production and all its derivatives, the company's development, and participation in the most important honey festivals with great enthusiasm and passion. It is currently registered with the Kalamata beekeepers' cooperative.
