In 1980, Michael X. Fotopoulos, together with his wife Maria Fotopoulos, started timidly as amateurs with five beehives in their home garden in Akritochori Messinia.
The honey produced was just enough for their family, for their three children Christina, Antonia and the younger Haralambos, relatives and dear friends. Michael and Maria decided after a few years that they would move from amateurs to professional honey producers. Sharing the wonderful taste and nutritional values with all their loved ones.
Thus, in 1983, the five beehives became 200 and moved from their home garden to the Mani region and the Taygetos mountains.
The excellent quality of their products attracted new customers while maintaining traditional production. All offer the generous and beneficial advantages of honey and other pure products (pollen, royal jelly and fragrant mountain herbs).
In 1994, his son Harry Fotopoulos took over the business, participated in training seminars, and acquired the appropriate knowledge for the profession, which, along with art and his parents, continued the secret of success. His parents continue with great willingness and passion to produce honey and all its derivatives, develop the company, and participate in the most important honey festivals. It is currently registered with the Kalamata beekeepers' cooperative.
